Heartbeat Victoria in Bendigo

During its meeting on March 10th, the Board of Heartbeat Victoria discussed the situation with Heartbeat Bendigo and passed the following resolution:

“The board of HBVCI recognizes the near-40-year history of Heartbeat Bendigo and the contribution they have made to the Bendigo community. We understand, but regret, the recent decision of the Committee not to stand for re-election, leading to the dissolution of the group.

We also recognize the ongoing need for peer support in the Bendigo cardiac patient community.

In order to help meet this need, we propose setting up a new branch in Bendigo, and where possible, leverage the expertise and experience of the previous Committee to do this effectively”.

The Board also offered their thanks to all of the Heartbeat Bendigo members, committee and officers who have done so much to support the Bendigo community – something they did with enthusiasm and great spirit.

As part of the effort to serve the needs of the local cardiac community for peer support, Heartbeat Victoria will be attending the City of Greater Bendigo’s “Be Well Be Connected” Expo on May 7th at the Showgrounds Exhibition Centre.

This event will feature local exhibitors showcasing aged care, community and disability products and services, and allows visitors to meet face-to-face with service providers, advisors, and community groups.
