Heartbeat Sunraysia kicked off the beginning of an exciting and busy Heart Week early on Monday 4th May with the erection of their amazing display board, which was front and centre in the front foyer of the Base Hospital, creating a lot of interest from the outset.
From there, Elaine (Secretary) and Julie (President) attended the Cardiac Rehab Session to a very enthusiastic, inquisitive and happy group, which ended on a positive vibe with two very interested, prospective new members.
Their second event on Tuesday 5th was a Heart Failure presentation held in Conference Room 1 of the Hospital by Nurses Amy Stanbrook & Emma Bath. The girls acknowledged Graeme, Elaine and Julie to the large group of attendees as their very special guests from Heartbeat Sunraysia.
The third event on Wednesday 6th was their Cuppa Catch-up, held in the Hospital Courtyard. They were conspicuous as a sea of red and made very welcome by Amy and other Hospital staff. Amy ensured they were treated to her delicious, specially made “Heart”❤️ shaped & decorated biscuits to eat with their hot drinks. What a fun filled time they enjoyed there.
Their last event for Heart Week on Friday 8th May, was again hosted in the Base Hospital’s Courtyard. It was a “Healthy Heart Lunch” consisting of delicious fish or chicken Poke Bowls and a container of fresh fruit salad.
The many conversations and contacts made, truly lifted the profile of Heartbeat Sunraysia and their presence within the community.
Congratulations to the Heartbeat Sunraysia team on a very busy and successful Heart Week!
