Tamieka is currently a member of Heartbeat Victoria’s Ballarat branch and a subcommittee member of the Australian Cardiac Rehabilitation Association (ACRA).

What do you find most rewarding about your association with Heartbeat Victoria?

Having a cardiovascular event, procedure or diagnosis can be quite confronting and frightening. Organisations such as Heartbeat allow for patients to feel empowered through peer support. Peer support can play a massive part in the recovery of people after a cardiac event, diagnosis or procedure and can allow for the return of confidence after a cardiovascular event. I love seeing people being able to regain their confidence and return to some normality after a cardiovascular event.
