Heartbeat Sunraysia recently held a CPR training event with the Hands on Heart organization in Mildura.
Hands on Heart Australia is a community initiative by the Mildura Lions Club, and is dedicated to improving survival rates for individuals experiencing sudden cardiac arrest in Mildura and the surrounding areas.
They are committed to offering free CPR training to increase the number of people equipped to respond effectively in emergencies. Their goal is to train an additional 5000 individuals in basic CPR over the next five years, empowering the community with the skills and confidence to save lives.
The community initiative started in June 2023 and to date 1163 people have been trained with the emphasis on students at the year 5 and 6 levels.
Hands on Heart Australia is a not-for-profit initiative run by volunteers and supported by donations from businesses and individuals, ensuring their CPR courses remain free for all.
Heartbeat Sunraysia is looking forward to working with Hands on Heart Australia and the Mildura Lions Club into the future.
