Heartbeat Victoria President, Christine Rees, has created a wonderful square to add to the 100+ Hearts Project quilt.
The 100+ Hearts Project invites makers from around the world to help raise awareness of women’s heart health through creative expression. Participants are asked to create a quilt block in honour of a woman who has been affected by heart disease and share her story. Together, these blocks form a large, travelling quilt and an accompanying book.
This giant quilt is magnificent with all its 220 heart patches, and had been created by Ronda Hazell.
Ronda’s art quilts have been in exhibitions over the last few years. A Victorian-based textile artist, Ronda is known for her expressive designs and her passion for recycling and sustainable creativity.
Ronda is also deeply passionate about heart health. She is leading this powerful project to raise awareness of women’s heart disease—an area where symptoms are often vague, such as dizziness or fatigue, leading to delays in diagnosis and treatment.
